Ya Never Know!

How terrible to die in such a Way!

Well wait a minute that’s inevitable!

I mean how horrible to die by being crushed by your own car?

JEEP, what a journey, Jeep to American Motors, to Chrysler to now Fiat.

Is Jeep’s to blame for producing a defective product? Or the poor victim that dies from their defect?

Not sure what part leaving the engine running will ultimately have to play in the whole saga.

Or did the defect rear its ugly head and it appeared to be in park? We may never know.

At least Volkswagen only cheated! Or did they?

How can we calculate the emission related illnesses and deaths related to their DECEIT?

The religion of The almighty DOLLAR,bone, buck, clam, one, smacker, cheddar,Pound sterling,Euro,German mark,Chinese renminbi, or Yen.

Whatever you call it!

We as Americans have no Monopoly on this obsession. Especially considering our childhood conditioning.

Do we blame the media our ourselves for being willing participants?

AH! Then there’s the Generation Y/Millennium’s or what I call the instant gratification generation.

I have personally raised two of them so, I have limited experience.

We are a turning point, a changing of the guard, a CHANGE. What do I base this on?

LOOK at our current Presidential Nightmare! Everybody’s unhappy, because no one better has stepped up? We blame the Politicians, but look at the them. Are any of us ready to stand up?

We’re at the end of a road a changing of the Old Guard!

Unless the Generation Y/Millennium’s and the Generation Z/Boomlets set up and become part of the process what will our next Presidential experience present us? The current MMA champ versus Mrs. USA?

To my generation WE are NOT without Guilt! Why is that you may ask, because we haven’t passed on the HISTORY!

The price paid by previous generations for our Freedoms and RIGHT to vote!

Ya know the ones who came before us and made this possible! The ability to Change our environment for the better! To make a brighter future with less hate.

Only if the Donald loses! If he wins hate, racism and bigotry will rule the day.

True story worked the primary election as a clerk, a Generation Y/Millennium walked in “I’m not sure if I’m registered or not, but if I am I’ll vote.”

He was not. We offered to register him on the spot so he would be good to in November, but he said “don’t worry about it it’s too much work!” And walked out!

Obviously that still bothers me!

A couple of co-workers of mine defended their generation, by saying you can’t lump all of us into one boat.

I said you have heard of Donald Trump! Isn’t that what he’s doing? (Sorry couldn’t resist!)

One of these two defendants not two minutes later she couldn’t walk to the recycle bin down the hall it was too far. Huh!

So, what does all of this have to do with Chekhov’s (Anton Yelchin) death, probably nothing.

He so young, with so much in front of him, as every one of us, just as those in club in Orlando or anyone crossing the street in downtown USA.

What does this really have to do with Chekhov’s death?

Well for me:
Never forget to tell the ones important to you that they are!

It’s OK to say Thank You for your help!

If you LOVE someone TELL them!

Ya Never Know!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you hadn’t figured it out Baby Boomer Here!

Ways to Help in Re-finding OUR PASSION!

It may be easy to say that we are ready to make certain steps in finding our passion.

But once we have set our mind to do this, you will soon realize that nothing is really simple and easy when it comes to this.

There are so many things to think about and issues to be settled before it finally becomes clear what you really want to achieve.

To make sure that you will get to your goal no matter how long it takes, you should take the necessary steps to get there.

The first thing that you have to fully understand is where it is you want to be.

You have to define that goal. What do you really want to achieve? At this point, you must face reality.

You can’t aim to be a gold medalist in swimming when you don’t even know how to swim.

In setting your goals, it will be best if you fully understand your strengths and weaknesses.

You must not be too hard on yourself by wanting something that you don’t have the capacity to attain.

You should comprehend all of your limitations.

After you have defined your goals, it will be easier to plan how you are going to get there.

But before you get serious with that, you have to analyze where you are now.

Are you happy with where you’re at?

Because if you are, why would you still want to go on a different path?

On the other hand, if you feel like you are stuck on your current job and the circumstances where you are at, or you’re just tired of being one of the working poor.

Then you no longer have to think about what you should do.

This is a very good sign that you have to try something new.

You have to get out of your current situation before it gets too late.

Sometimes, it’s so easy to stay in our comfort zone where we are not required to achieve.

This only means that you are no longer allowing yourself to grow.

And when that happens, you may lose track of the goals that you had set to achieve.

When you have reached the point that you have forgotten about what you really want to attain, you must check yourself.

You need to go back to the point when you were still setting goals and wanted achieve.

Who where you back then?

What did you dream of becoming and achieving at that point in your life?

What were the things that made you happy and made you feel inspired?

After realizing what you may have missed, you must then think about what went wrong and what happened that caused you to get derailed, from where you really want to be.

No matter how young or how old we are, we still have chances to achieve our goals. We can still take action in finding our passion.

We can always go back to the point when we e chose to turn right when we were supposed to turn left. Go back to that point in your life.

And this time, make sure that you take the right direction to where you want to be.

What to Do When You Don’t Feel Empowered!

Even the most self-assured and positive of us can have days where they feel emotionally defeated and out of control.

Being self-empowered isn’t a magic state of being that is achieved and never goes away. It’s an approach to life that needs constant work, assessment, and care.

When you have days where you’re not feeling empowered, it’s important to take extra care of yourself.

These are the days when you need a little extra support and attention. So let’s talk about what you can do when you’re not feeling in control over your life.

  1. Pay Attention to Your Thoughts and Words
  • There’s a very good chance that some negative self-talk has crept into your thoughts.
  • Spend some quiet time being aware of your thoughts and actions.
  • How have you stopped treating yourself well?
  • What caused that change?
  • Awareness is the first step to regaining your sense of well-being and empowerment.
  1. Forgive and Move Forward
  • If you’re feeling out of control or a loss of empowerment, it may be because you’ve made a mistake or you feel like someone has harmed you.
  • It’s often best to forgive yourself for the error, or to forgive them, and to move forward.
  • Use it as an opportunity to learn more about yourself and apply that information to your future decisions and behaviors.
  1. Treat Yourself Well
  • Forgiveness is part of treating yourself well.
  • Depending on what has caused your recent situation, you might also give yourself a little extra room and time to regain balance.
For example, if you are feeling bad about your physical empowerment because you cheated on your diet, then forgive yourself and treat yourself to a healthy and positive meal that nourishes your body and your spirit.
  • If you made a mistake at work, you must forgive yourself and then treat yourself well.
  • Like by enjoying a hot bath or a run or something that brings you joy.
  • Some soft music or even an adult beverage if your so inclined.
  1. Take Positive Action
  • Finally, there’s nothing that helps you regain your sense of empowerment like taking positive action.
  • When you’re having a difficult day, week, or month, identify what you can do to make it better and take action.
  • Even in the worst situations that life can throw at you, you always have a say in how you respond, react, and feel.
  • We get to control the thoughts we have, the actions we take, and how we respond to the world around us.
  • Self-empowerment means not forgetting that we are in charge of our lives.
Sometimes that can be easy to forget.

When it happens, become aware, treat yourself well, and take positive action to turn it around.

We Can Improve Our Personal Lives With Our Dream Job!

For some of us, improving our personal life is finding a new career.

If we are working in what we love to do, that rubs off on the way we view things and gives us a better perspective on life.

You have to consider the many ways of success we can practice to become a well-rounded person finding his or her dream job.

You have to believe in you and what you want.

Make it your reality.

With a solid plan, whether to changing jobs or starting a new business can become a reality.

You should never let the fear of change stop us from achieving something that we really want.

New is overwhelming for most of us, but if you take time out to research, planning and proper networking, we’ll find the transition will be less stressful.

Find a career you love

  • Whether you’re in mid-career, a student, new to the work force, or an entrepreneur it gets difficult to gain satisfaction and accomplishment when you’re stuck doing something you hate.
  • Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, so why not do something that you like doing.
  • Keep in mind that doing what you like is often complicated but if you would like to improve your personal life here are a few steps:

Decide why you want to change careers:

  • It is important to know whether you are moving away from something or moving towards something.
  • It is difficult to identify your ideal job when you are overwhelmed by negative issues from your current situation.
  • If you are making a career change, keep all of your options open to make a fresh start.

What are your goals?

  • Write down a normal aspect of a normal day.
  • Outline what it is exactly that you want to do. What kind of work schedule do you want, what kind of positions and tasks, what is your ideal salary to live comfortably, and are you an entrepreneur at heart.
  • Continuously write and update these goals in a notebook or journal.

Identify your interests

  • Your interests do not mean this should be your new job or business, it is just the beginning of self-exploration.
  • The key is to identify what truly interests you and how you can incorporate those interests into the work field. What are your favorite hobbies?
  • What books do you like to read?
  • What sections of the newspaper to you turn to first?
  • What are your favorite television shows?
  • After keeping track of this for a week, you should discover a trend that should narrow down to two or three topics of interests.

What are your abilities?

  • Write down a list of abilities that come easily to you. By doing something that your good at will not only greater your chance of succeeding, but give a sense of satisfaction to your work.
  • You will find that you have hidden abilities.
  • Once you pull up those hidden abilities use them, see how you like them and put them to good use.
  • Many people walk through life failing to realize who they are and what they are capable of doing to its entirety.
  • Do not be afraid to learn who you are.
  • It will take some time. It took me over thirty years, but it was well worth the trial and errors made along the way to learn who I am.Failing to remember:Failing to remember:
    • Many of us have difficulty remembering.
    • This is a common problem.
    • Don’t let it get you down.
    • Take action to improve your memory.
    • Walk along the jungle lane of memory and explore what is in your mind and what you want to accomplish.

If a city or county has already passed a ban on plastic bags, that law will stay in place and will not be affected by Prop 67.
If and when a statewide ban goes into effect, any ordinance passed by a city or county after that would be superseded by the state law.

Notes

* If both plastic bag measures (Props 65 and 67) pass, the one with the most votes becomes law
**If both death penalty measures (Props 62 and 66) pass, the one with the most votes becomes law

Uncovering Spirituality

The word Spirituality conjures up visions of meditating hippies chanting barefoot in unison, (omg I’m that old) or perhaps the soft-spoken friar.

Many of us have a per-defined view of what spirituality is but how can we define it properly?

So exactly what is spirituality?

This is often a confused word, for many of us. How can we define spirituality? Being aware that we are spirit?

I feel that an initial step in uncovering spirituality is to start by looking within ourselves, our hearts.

Spirituality is the idea that we can look to be guided from within our being, by listening to our spirit, which is in tune with, and part of the whole of spirit.

Spirituality is, in the most basic sense, matters pertaining to the spirit. Some of us believe that there exists something, be it a state of mind, a being, or a place, that is outside the experience of our five limited senses.

I believe that spirituality is a personal relationship of an individual. Is spirituality a goal of achieving understanding, improved relationships with the sacred, an association with something greater?

I believe all of us are spirits – energies connected with one another and comprising the whole spirit.

Everything that is, exists within the entire energy, we are all a part of it, and our connection with the divine source can never be severed.

Unless we want it so.

The spirit is ever close, never far and always connected to us, for it is us.

We are divine beings having physical experiences, and not solely physical beings living a temporary life.

Those that choose to believe we are imperfect and lacking are living life and looking outward, spirituality looks inward and needs nothing, but to know the truth of who we are.

This is a path that few of us understand or a state any of us rarely achieve.

Type 2 Diabetes -What is Healthy?

Despite the diagnosis of over 1.8 million new cases a year in the United States, Type 2 diabetes is not feared as it should be.

A survey taken by the ADA and the CDC showed many people were more afraid of snake bites, plane crashes, or cancer.

Those of us  who are not in good health are putting our well-being in jeopardy, and the side effects could be felt for the rest of our lives..

  • An individual who is overweight or obese for instance may have to deal with much more than just adiposity in the years to come.
  • Type 2 diabetes could strike, and life, as it is known, could be changed forever.
  • Heart disease could develop. A stroke could occur without warning. These are potentially lethal ramifications.

People who are healthy on the other hand has the odds on his side.

  • While unfortunate circumstances could still unfold, it would take much more to put his well-being at high risk.
  • And the chances are what does develop could be more easily managed. For instance, if high blood pressure becomes an issue, a physically active lifestyle may be all that is necessary to bring the reading under control.
  • This is provided the individual is eating healthily. If not changes would need to be made to their eating plan.

Many factors determine whether or not we can be considered healthy.

  • Unless you consult a doctor, opinions will greatly differ. Some will say as long as you exercise, you are doing well.
  • But it is essential not to forget the importance of healthy eating. Also, what is known as vices need to be controlled, before they get out of hand and damage your health in a permanent way.
  • Smoking, for example, can have lifelong consequences, which is not news to most of us.
  • But alcohol can also cause harm to your body. Despite these facts, there are still smokers in our society and those who drink to excess on a regular basis.

We must do what we can to be healthy.

  • Forget what others are doing. And know you do not have to be perfect, either.
  • A healthy body doesn’t require a perfect lifestyle; rather, all it demands is some discipline.
  • You have to eat well most of the time, exercise regularly, and use some common sense.
  • For instance, if you have high blood sugar levels and need to lose weight, it is unwise to binge on carbohydrates when you know you need to limit them and eat healthy carbs most of the time.

A healthy body ultimately leads to a healthy life.

  • And a healthy life is perhaps what you should aim for as your experiences are made much more fruitful when you can enjoy them thoroughly.
  • It is as if the odds are in your favor if you are a middle-aged adult with a healthy body and a healthy life. What can’t you achieve?
  • Of course, many things in life are difficult to attain, but nothing worth having comes easy.

I hope we all make the right decisions.

Remember we only have one life to live.

If you want to make it the best it can be, ensure your health is taken care of.

Tips in Finding Our Passion!

Some of us take a lifetime in realizing what we really want to do and where we want to take our journey.

It would be best if we knew the essentials in finding our passion while we were still young.

This way, you will have lots of time to fulfill whatever you want to achieve and enjoy its effects and benefits as well.

For some of us we only want to pursue our passion only after we have gone through several failures.

It is not that easy to know what we really want to do for the rest of our lives. I still don’t know, and I’m far from young, physically.

But, there are some of us who end up pursuing some very unlikely routes while forgetting what we really wanted to achieve.

The reasons for this varies. But I just call it getting caught up in life.

To help us in this regard, here are some tips that we can follow.

We should look at things around us. Determine what or who inspired us to achieve whatever goals we had in mind.

They can be your loved ones or a specific person that encouraged you to be better.

These can also be things. Be careful with this one. What are the objects that create some sparks and enhance you to move forward?

Use these objects and people in order to find out for yourself what you really want to achieve.

You can list down the things and people or places that may come to your mind when you are thinking about this, so that you can begin tracking of what really matters to you.

Think happy thoughts!

Reminisce about the times when you were most happy in your life.

What brought about such happiness? What made you happy?

And while you’re at it, you should also think about when was the last time you experienced such a moment.

If it’s already been a long time, ask yourself why? What do you think caused such a state?

Go back to the things that ignited your passion in the past. Read your favorite book.

This may be a great time to find peace digging through self-help books, videos, for some the bible.

This can especially true if you cannot talk to anyone close to you regarding the matter in ways that you hope to be understood.

If you are stuck in a job that is killing you and your only reason why your there is for the money, (aka paying the bills). Ya know that getting caught up in life thing!

Then you may have a harder time in getting to know where your real passion lies.

Because if you’re like me other people depend on you.  Bottom line we still have to take care of business.

Despite the hype, unless you’re in certain fields is still tough finding the job of our dreams out there.

You may want to look back at the point before you entered this job. What were you back then or what were you trying to achieve at that point?

What where the things you were thinking about? If you have already saved enough, then you’re probably not reading this post, you may want to consider quitting your current job.

This way, you can allot more time in pursuing the things that you really want before it is already too late.

Think this step through though! Don’t let frustration cost you everything. Don’t take for granted what you’ve already achieved. Take time to reflect on where you are.

I can Guarantee you that you are going to find people in better and worse situations then us.

Never forget to be thankful!

That being said, we all have to be open to whatever possibilities life may bring. We need to expect more than what we may already have achieved.

This can be done by being bold enough to reach out of our comfort zone.

It doesn’t matter how small or how big it is. Once we start following our hearts and minds to reach the point where we think and feel we will be happy and satisfied, we begin to feel we are on the right track.

And finding our passion will hopefully be easier in the long run.

This is my first unofficial post!

By unofficial I mean it’s my turn for the “No Spin Zone”!

How can anyone say they we’re not putting our own perspective (“SPIN”) on issues that are dear to us?

How can we distance ourselves from what we feel are important? Anyway, that’s a discussion for another day.

Especially since my wife cut off my cable and I can’t watch anymore. Too bad, so sad! All he and his cohorts on that channel do is make me hate the media.

Anyway, back to no spin!

As a rule, I draft, rewrite, proof, spell check, but tonight is none of that.  So forgive the grammar, the typos, and the nonsense of it all.

Yea baby!! The Cheater New England Patriots have lost two in a row!!!

Donald Trump is a Hater!! Professing Racism and Bigotry! In my opinion.

The real question is; why are so many of us drawn to that?

Have we come to cheating, racism, and bigotry as the American way? Before we exclude anyone, remember what made us GREAT. Not walls!

Wake up this isn’t yesterday! We have to learn how to change! Tomorrow isn’t TODAY!

The interesting thing the military and sports teach you, is when your survival depends on the person next to, race, creed and color don’t matter. Can you do the job does!

OOOOH! That felt good!

The beauty of being the editor of a blog is you can, let it out, occasionally!

The original inspiration for this post is I just spent the afternoon at a very good friend of my house called Doc. Yes, I call him Doc, because he’s a Doctor.

Just because I’m a dummy, doesn’t mean I don’t have something to offer.

Because my other Bud, we’ll call him Tommie is a Steelers fan and they had the late game, today. (Steelers vs Colts).

We hadn’t seen each other in a while and alcohol was involved. We’re all past 50, so judge somebody else.  That might also explain this post!!!

So as the evening degraded into pure male testosterone speak, (I invited the wife, but she being an intelligent woman like the other wives, chose not to come.)

Doc is a widower, anyway Doc and Tommie start talking about Kim Kardashian. All I said was look what the mamma did to Bruce, I’d say away from them, shoot look at Lamar.

As they continue rip me a new one, I say I just don’t want my woman parading on the NET. Doc how is 70 years old, begins to educate me on the folly of my youth.

I loved it “the folly of my youth.” I loved it, I’ll be 60 next year. For the record Tommie is a kid of 55. So then I say OK, I’ll give you one of the best bodies money can buy!

So, Tommie begins to explain in his usual unique way, if she came in here right, we’d fight each other over her. I said I wouldn’t, because, Doc, would kick all our asses.

As we enjoyed the moment, I just mentioned how it would bother me, but obviously it doesn’t her husband. Then we all mused over the that he’s a rocket scientist.

Then that started us on our discussion on the Millennial’s. Then I remembered maybe I was a Millennial in my time.

I can remember my mother saying, boy what are listening to, and heck no you’re not wearing that in my house!

So, when it was all said and done, we’re thankful, we had the opportunity to get together and talk some manure and the Steelers won.

So as the alcohol triumphs I’m going to call it a night.

Be thankful for what you have. There is always going to be better and worse, but any day you can compete is a good day!
